COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Friday felicitated two famend cricket umpires — DN Pathirana and KRP Doolwala — who retired from officiating duties after a service of over 20 years.
“Both Pathirana and feminine umpire Doolwala had been offered with mementos and a money reward at a easy ceremony held on the SLC Headquarters in Maitland Place, SLC stated in a press release.
Pathirana served as a number one umpire from 1982 to 2006 within the home circuit and has officiated 30 One Day International matches along with showing in 8 Test matches as a reserve umpire.
Doolwala was a former Sri Lanka girls’s participant, who took up umpiring after her taking part in days and served as an umpire for over twenty years.
At the time of her retirement, she was a Sara Trophy certified umpire at SLC. Pathirana and Doolwala had been offered with money awards on the event organised by SLC Umpires’ Committee Chairman, Deepal Madurapperuma and SLC Head of Domestic Cricket, Chinthaka Edirimanne.
