Trump vows to set off ‘snapback’ of Iran sanctions at UN

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump stated on Saturday he would transfer subsequent week to set off a “snapback” of sanctions on Iran on the United Nations.
“We’ll be doing a snapback,” Trump informed reporters someday after the U.N. Security Council rejected a US bid to increase a U.N. arms embargo on Iran. “You’ll be watching it subsequent week.”
The United States has threatened to set off a return of all U.N. sanctions on Iran utilizing a provision in a 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, referred to as snapback, though Trump deserted the accord in 2018. Diplomats have stated the United States would face a troublesome, messy battle in any such transfer.
