KOTTAYAM: Those who escaped from the landslide at Pettimudy close to Munnar on Friday couldn’t discover any cause to be joyful as those that have been hit by the pure catastrophe embrace a few of their close to and pricey ones.

Shanmugan, a Pettimudy resident who escaped the landslide, mentioned when he heard the sound of his son’s bike, he tried to stand up to open the door of the room. But he was shocked to see that the cots have been swinging and shortly he realised that the room too was shaking. Soon water began gushed into his home. A youth within the neighbouring room broke open the door and rescued him and his spouse. Shanmugan escaped, however a few of his pricey ones weren’t fortunate as they have been buried beneath the earth.
An aged girl on the entrance of the emergency wing of the hospital was seen bursting into tears. She was repeatedly saying the title of her relative who was discovered lacking ever for the reason that she awoke at 5am on Friday.
She mentioned the residents of this place have been in a disaster for the previous couple of weeks as there was no electrical energy, no cell phone protection or any work. She mentioned no one knowledgeable her about such a tragedy at night time. She had slept at 11pm on Thursday. Once the water gushed into her home, she received out of the room directed by the sunshine of her torch. By then she too had misplaced many close to ones.
