I-League: Sudeva, Sreenidhi get AIFF nod for I-League | Football News

PANAJI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) discovered two robust bids for a direct entry within the I-League and determined to reward each Sudeva FC and Sreenidhi FC.
While the Delhi-based Sudeva will make their debut within the I-League from this season (2020-21), Sreenidhi, who ticked all containers and promised to compete for high honours from Vizag, have been granted a direct entry from the following season (2021-22).
“Both the bids had been profitable and fulfilled the factors. It would have been unfair to reject considered one of them,” I-League CEO Sunando Dhar advised TOI after the analysis committee assembly on Wednesday.
The AIFF had the choice of including each the groups to the league this season itself. However, with the coronavirus pandemic throwing every thing out of drugs and the league presumably having a shortened schedule, that thought was shortly put aside.
This season’s I-League can have 12 groups. Teams who’ve secured a direct spot will likely be exempted from relegation for a yr.
