LONDON: The FA Cup is not going to have replays for the 2020-21 season to assist ease fixture congestion attributable to the COVID-19 disaster, England’s Football Association (FA) stated on Thursday.
Next season’s competitors is scheduled to start on Sept. 1 – solely a month after the 2020 ultimate – with the showpiece match at Wembley set to happen on May 15, 2021.
“In order to help in easing stress on the soccer schedule, there shall be no replays for the 2020-21 season,” the FA stated in an announcement, because it introduced the schedule.
The FA added that the prize fund would return to 2017-18 ranges due to the monetary impression of the novel coronavirus outbreak after two seasons of report fee ranges.
