Tributes poured in from the music fraternity for the legendary classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj who breathed his final on Monday.

Several musicians together with singer Lata Mangeshkar, lyricist Javed Akhtar, and others took to social media to mourn his demise.

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar posted on Twitter,” Mahan shashtriya gayak aur maa Saraswati ke upasak Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji ke swargwas ki khabar sunkar mujhe aseem dukh hua.”

“Ishwar unki aatma ko shanti de predominant yehi prarthana karti hun,” she added.

The legendary musician handed away at an age of 90 on Monday in New Jersey.

Pandit Jasraj whose profession in music spanned over 80 years belonged to the Mewati Gharana. He is a recipient of a number of accolades together with the distinguished Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
