BSEB awards grace marks to move 2.14 lakh college students amid Covid-19

PATNA: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has handed 2.14 lakh college students, who failed in both one or two topics in Matriculation and Intermediate examinations, by giving them grace marks as “one time exception”, state Education Minister Krishnandan Prasad Verma mentioned.

Normally college students who fail in a single or two topics are given an opportunity to look at compartmental examination however it will not have been attainable to carry the examination within the subsequent two-three months in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the minister mentioned whereas saying the choice on Thursday.

“Even if the compartmental examination was held in such tough and attempting occasions, the outcomes would have been printed by the tip of November or December. In such a state of affairs, the scholars wouldn’t have benefitted, because the admission course of would have been accomplished by then.

“In view of above causes and college students curiosity, the BSEB determined to present grace marks as one time exception to college students who have been eligible to look on the compartmental examination,” the minister mentioned.

Similarly, out of two,08,147 college students who failed in a single or two topics in school 10 examination, 1,41,677 handed attributable to award of grace marks, the discharge mentioned.
